King Charles III visited the White House Tuesday, where he was met with soldiers standing guard wearing Revolutionary War garb.

Footage from the South Lawn showed soldiers dressed in Revolutionary War attire at attention during the British king’s visit, perhaps a clever troll by the president to remind Charles of when the United States fought for independence from British rule.

The “U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps” also played an old tune during a ceremony honoring the king’s visit.

TMZ also found a George Washington impersonator near Congress during Tuesday’s events.

Congressional leadership also invited King Charles to the House Chamber to address a joint meeting of Congress, to which President Trump later quipped he was impressed he was able to get Democrats to stand.

“I want to congratulate Charles on having made a fantastic speech today at Congress. He got the Democrats to stand. I’ve never been able to do that. I couldn’t believe it,” Trump remarked.

Here’s the king’s full speech before Congress:

The day wrapped up with a white-tie state dinner at the White House’s East Room.

Amid the festivities, a photograph captured President Trump’s amused reaction as a bee landed on him while he gave the king a tour of the White House garden and bee hive on the South Lawn, spawning memes online.
