The Department of Justice on Thursday released new high-quality footage of Saturday’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting.
“Today, we are releasing video already provided to U.S. District Court showing Cole Allen shoot a U.S. Secret Service officer during his attempt to assassinate the President at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” announced US Attorney Jeanine Pirro on social media, adding, “There is no evidence the shooting was the result of friendly fire.”

The footage comes as a pretrial detention memo Wednesday showed Allen took selfies in his hotel room outfitted with a knife and a shoulder holster prior to committing the act.

The suspected shooter faces three federal charges including discharging a firearm during a crime, interstate transportation of a firearm with intent to commit a felony, and attempting to assassinate the President of the United States, which carries a life sentence if convicted.
