Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. issued a message on social media Friday, urging U.S. children to get off their phones or tablets and reconnect with the real world.

He wrote on 𝕏, “America faces more than a chronic disease epidemic that threatens our physical health. We also face a spiritual malaise that undermines our mental health. Our children are increasingly isolated, fragmented, and anxious, spending more than 8.5 hours a day on screens. This summer, put down the phone and reconnect with nature, family, and community. It’s time to Take Back Your Health. Eat Real Food. Get Active. Together, we will Make America Healthy Again.”

In the video message, Kennedy hiked through beautiful Colorado trails while detailing how connecting with nature and fellow humans is crucial to helping young Americans get healthy both mentally and physically.

The initiative is being rolled out along with a new website GetActive.Gov that states, “President Trump and Secretary Kennedy are driving a nationwide effort to Make America Healthy Again by confronting the root causes of chronic disease. Through the Take Back Your Health initiative, they are empowering every American to Get Active, Eat Real Food, and Live Real Life—building a stronger future for themselves, their families, and their communities.”

The White House shared the video, writing on social media, “It’s summer! Get outside. Touch grass.”
