Federal authorities are seeking custody of an illegal alien gang member facing a slew of charges in a Maryland sanctuary county.
On April 25, the Montgomery County Police Department arrested Naun Bonilla Rosales for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery that occurred in Bethesda, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Rosales, a criminal illegal alien from Honduras and known member of the 18th Street Gang, has been charged with armed robbery, theft, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and malicious destruction of property.
Before being placed in a police cruiser, Rosales reportedly assaulted officers and struck his head against a rear window.
ICE lodged a detainer requesting local authorities not release the violent repeat offender, but it is unclear if it will be honored.
Bonilla Rosales’ criminal history includes convictions for felony burglary, trespassing, and damage to property.
Rosales illegally entered the U.S. at an unknown location and on an unknown date.
“Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S.,” an ICE spokesperson told Border Hawk.
“ICE is working diligently to remove these violent, dangerous offenders from our communities.”
