A video going viral on social media features a man claiming he discovered the government possesses drone footage of his backyard garden.
“You guys, I am freaking out right now. I did a FOIA request, a Freedom of Information Act request on my name, and this is what I got,” the man says, adding, “This is a drone surveillance video of my yard, of my private property, looking for food, looking for me growing food on my private property.”
“Not only am I freaked out, but I’m furious,” he continues. “I’m furious. Everyone should be furious. We need to talk about this. Send this to someone who you think is growing food and would also be on the government watch list because this is not okay.”

This Virginia homesteader filed a FOIA… and got back footage of HIS OWN food forest labeled “SUSPECTED FOOD PRODUCTION” by the “Dept of Homestead Security.”

An overlay on the video states, “Dept of Homestead Security Surveillance Drone Unit,” which is not a real agency, and claims the man is engaged in “suspected food production.”
The alarming video was shared on the FoodForestVirginia Instagram page.
It’s unclear whether the man is being truthful or trolling; however, if his story is true it would represent massive government overreach, invasion of privacy and an encroachment on the freedom to produce one’s own food.

It’s FAKE, it says in the footage “Dept of Homestead Security” Ha Ha. Plus you can see the shadow of the relatively small drone that someone would have to be operating in close proximity.
Does it say looking for food. Could be seeing if grownup weed. Im in NY. Have had sheriff helicopters over my house. They Couldnt have been more than 20ft above heighg of my roof. To count how many plants I got. Its legal but a limit to how many allowed .

It looks fake. However, I think they’re going to outlaw gardens eventually. The left will probably do it as being bad for the environment somehow. They’re working on shutting down real food production and only offering us processed garbage.
