25-year-old John Elijah Matthews is being charged with murder in the death of 66-year-old Margaret Swan after the latter was stabbed to death while riding an Atlanta, Georgia, train.
Just after 12 p.m., police were called to the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority’s (MARTA) Oakland City Station where they arrested Matthews and rendered aid to Swan before she was eventually pronunced dead.
MARTA officials released a statement, saying, “This appears to be a senseless act of violence, and our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones and those who witnessed this horrific incident.”
Footage of the suspect being arrested was uploaded online, showing a knife laying on the ground near the handcuffed individual.
GRAPHIC WARNING! Another video shared online shows blood spilled all over the train near Swan’s body.
Some train riders are blaming the brutal murder on a recent change that allows homeless people to ride MARTA trains for free, with on man telling Fox Atlanta, “It’s crazy, just need more security, for real. Watching everywhere. They really need to block it off where homeless people can’t come in because it’s getting bad out here.”
Less than a week before Swan was killed, another MARTA passenger was stabbed several times near the Georgia State Capitol.

The only thing marta good for is it will take you directly to the airport for domestic flights. I aint skurt of the naggers Im a Native, which is rare nowadays. If you dont live and work on the rail line then you dont have business being on the trains, its pointless, if you got to do it, go with a friend or group
I used to ride marta alot, go with a friend or group, its really bad. I would take a weapon. When I rode alone I took my baseball bat and if anyone asked “Im going to my softball game”, which was true. Its so bad you can drink a beer and smoke a cig and just eyeball the naggers eyeballing you

What a waste of technology. The Bible points out that we will be sorry the day our towers fall.
