Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game kicked off with a homage to America’s pastime and classic baseball movie, “The Sandlot,” featuring actor J.K. Simmons narrating the intro and the late Ray Charles’ rendition of “America The Beautiful” providing the soundtrack.

The tribute showed a group of kids grabbing their gloves, hopping on their bikes and riding to the Philadelphia Phillies’ Citizens Bank Park where the game was held.

The crowd watched as the jumbotron played footage of Charles belting out “America The Beautiful” during Game 2 of the 2001 World Series.

Next, the kids rode their bikes onto the field as fireworks erupted overhead, pulled up next to an MLB all-star and stood on the baseball diamond watching the fireworks display.

As each player was introduced, they walked through a Liberty Bell-styled tunnel and signed their name on a large piece of paper with a feather quill pen, à la the Declaration of Independence.

Actor Miles Teller delivered a monologue about the Founding Fathers coming together in Philadelphia to launch the United States of America.

A patriotic drone show also took place ahead of the game:

The pro-American sports display was evidence that anti-USA leftists are losing the culture war as citizens embrace the nation’s history and show love for the generations that led us to this moment in time.
