UK Government Warns Citizens To Stockpile Food, Water & Medicine In Preparation For War With Russia

The UK government is set to issue a new resilience program publicly asking that citizens stockpile food, water and medicine in addition to other survival items as part of a defense strategy seeking to prepare for potential cyber attacks or other threats from Russia.

The national campaign will launch in the coming months, with Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Darren Jones also announcing the British military’s largest “national home defense exercise” since the Cold War.

Cyber attacks targeting data and water infrastructure or UK elections are cited as potential dangers in addition to severe weather.

Jones recently stated, “The government will do all it can and we are well prepared – but we can all play our part to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. This campaign will help the public to take small but important steps to be prepared in case of emergencies and disruption – be that severe weather or a cyber-attack, which can impact access to power, water, or phone signal.”

The operation is being labeled a joint collaboration between “the military, government departments, agencies, and the whole of society.”

“Russia is not only a threat to NATO’s eastern flank. It is a direct threat to the UK homeland and these exercises, together with important measures like updating our ‘War Books’, will help prepare us to meet that threat, as well as showing the British public how seriously we are taking it,” said Under-Secretary of State for the Armed Forces at the Ministry of Defence Louise Sandher-Jones.

According to The Times, “The announcements come a week after officials quietly held a major wartime preparedness exercise in which Russia hit hospitals with missile strikes and shut down traffic light systems.”

The simulated attack reportedly exposed a “significant shortfall” in Britain’s healthcare system in the scenario of an attack.

The UK Foreign Affairs Committee also launched an inquiry into Russia this week as the most “acute” threat to the nation.

“The new inquiry will examine Russia’s international alliances and strategic partnerships, Russia’s foreign policy and the UK’s approach to it, as well as the conditions required for a ceasefire or negotiated settlement in Ukraine and what that means for Kyiv, for Moscow, and for European security more widely,” writes the Kyiv Post.

While European nations have been saber-rattling about Russia for years now, the Putin-led Kremlin is actually considering launching attacks on NATO nations that have been assisting Ukraine in its ongoing war with the Russkies, according to several sources.
