On Thursday, President Donald Trump posted two messages on Truth Social outlining U.S. operations to clear mines from the Strait of Hormuz and calling on Iran to negotiate a deal.
In the first post, Trump stated he has ordered the United States Navy to “shoot and kill any boat — small boats though they may be” that is laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz. He added that Iran’s naval ships are all “at the bottom of the sea” and emphasized there is to be “no hesitation.”
He also reported that U.S. mine sweepers are actively clearing the strait and announced he is tripling the scope of the minesweeping operation.

In his next post, President Trump highlighted Iran’s deep internal confusion over its leadership, writing: “Iran is having a very hard time figuring out who their leader is! They just don’t know! The infighting is between the ‘Hardliners,’ who have been losing BADLY on the battlefield, and the ‘Moderates,’ who are not very moderate at all (but gaining respect!), is CRAZY!”
He went on to claim that the American military maintains “total control over the Strait of Hormuz,” adding, “No ship can enter or leave without the approval of the United States Navy. It is ‘Sealed up Tight,’ until such time as Iran is able to make a DEAL!!!”

The Truth Social posts come shortly after President Trump extended the ceasefire with Iran until the country agrees to resume negotiations in Pakistan.
