Iran says it stopped a US destroyer from entering the Strait of Hormuz with a missile attack, a claim the US has denied.
According to Iranian state media, Iran’s military claimed, “With a firm and swift warning from the Islamic Republic Navy, the entry of American and Zionist enemy destroyers into the Strait of Hormuz was prevented.”
A senior US official has already denied the attack when questioned by reporters from Axios.
In a post on X, US Central Command has also denied the attack, writing “no US Navy ships have been struck.”
It adds: “U.S. forces are supporting Project Freedom and enforcing the naval blockade on Iranian ports.”
Oil prices spiked sharply after Iran’s claim, then fell with the US denial.
“Project Freedom” is President Trump’s name for an operation to escort stranded ships through the Strait of Hormuz, which he said on Sunday would begin “Monday morning, Middle East time.”
US Central Command has said the operation will involve 15,000 personnel, guided-missile destroyers and over 100 aircraft.
President Trump has said he will deal “forcefully” with any “interference” in the mission.
It’s unclear at present whether Project Freedom has begun.

Trump is again recycling old promises. Remember a few weeks ago he insisted the navy would open the Strait and escort traffic. Since then, the navy backed off more.
Iran fired 2 missles not intending to hit the destroyer and claims the U.S. Destroyer turned around. Denied by the U.S.
…. U.S. claims that they have escorted 2 ships through the straight, denied by Iran.

“We will not get the truth”……EXACTLY. At least not yet. So why do so many here respond (including hosts) as though they know the truth about a situation they are INCAPABLE of knowing? All this “the war is going horribly for the US” is pure speculation. In fact its worse than that…its a narrative being pushed so *someone* can say see, I was right. Its the height of irresponsibility.
Trump should turn the tables on the Mossad/CIA and release all the evidence of Mossad’s hand in 911 and all the assassinations they carried out including the attempts on him and use the Epstein evidence to blackmail Israel into submission and take away Israel’s nukes because the Likudnicks are more evil than the mullahs.
USA needs to leave the Middle East! It was never about Iran’s nuclear program. It’s about controlling who and how (petrodollar) they can sell oil. Prior to USA’s illegal attack, Iran never closed the Strait of Hormuz. Now, they are in complete control of it. It was a dumb war if the goal was to keep the dollar dominate.
It’s time to resume attacks on the 25% of targets we didn’t hit due to the cease fire. If we don’t, the time will come when we will regret not doing so.
