Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) ramped up efforts to hold former NIAID chief Anthony Fauci accountable, interviewing an active CIA whistleblower who testified the intelligence community at the behest of Fauci played a role in the coverup of Covid’s origins.
Paul subpoenaed CIA special operations officer James Erdman III to appear before the Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee on Wednesday to lay out allegations that intelligence community leaders and senior analysts downplayed the possibility that Covid originated via a lab leak.
“He’s a decorated officer with decades of intelligence and national security experience,” Paul said describing Erdman, who he said appeared despite “great personal risk” due to “the truth was being buried.”
“Dr. Fauci’s role in the cover-up was intentional,” Erdman testified.
According to Erdman, Fauci “influenced the analytical process and findings by leveraging his position to ensure the IC consulted with a conflicted list of curated subject matter experts, telehealth officials, and scientists.”

“This included some of the authors of the paper, the proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2, and other public health experts who have been in his orbit for the last 20-plus years,” Erdman said.
The CIA whistleblower also testified that while he was assigned to the Director’s Initiative Group (DIG) under the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the CIA illegally monitored DIG personnel’s computers and phones during their investigation into Covid’s origins, and retaliated against contractors and others assisting the probe to protect the cover-up.
“The analysts that supported the 2023 lab leak conclusion took every administrative measure available to them to address their deep concerns regarding the analytic integrity of their finished intelligence,” the whistleblower stated.
“CIA managers retaliated against them for their refusal to agree with management’s middle of the night, anonymous rewrite of the analysis, which changed the assessment to a non-call judgment.”
“These were Americans being spied upon illegally while executing duties directed by the president and under the authority of the Director National Intelligence,” Erdman said.
“One CIA contractor assisting with the digs investigation into the events that transpired between 2022 and 2023 was fired by the CIA one day after meeting with the DIG,” he said, adding, “When the DIG ceased operations, the CIA also took back 40 boxes of JFK files and MK-Ultra files being processed for declassification by DNI Gabbard.”
In an exchange with Sen. Paul, Erdman revealed the CIA is still blocking declassification of Covid documents and that the agency never addressed Fauci’s ties to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, while admitting Fauci had tremendous sway over the National Intelligence Council’s scientific consensus, which inexplicably switched from lab origin to natural spillover.

Responding to Wednesday’s hearing, CIA spokesperson Liz Lyons said Sen. Paul’s committee “acted in bad faith” by subpoeanaing Erdman without the notifying the CIA.
The hearing comes as Sen. Paul has led efforts calling for the US Justice Dept. to indict Fauci for lying to Congress about his role in the Covid origin cover-up.
Ultimately, the hearing corroborates allegations that Dr. Fauci influenced high-level intelligence assessments to downplay the lab-leak hypothesis, pushing the natural-origin narrative in what the whistleblower claimed were efforts to bury links to gain-of-function research.

Rand was saying it loudly a few days ago that the statue of limitations was about to expire. He also said he and anyone helping him did their part legally. He said if the statute of limitations ends, blame the Dept. of Justice. They are responsible.
