White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, a 28-year-old zoomer, went on Jesse Watters’ Primetime show on Thursday where she discussed how the new crop of Democrat politicians are communists. Following that topic, the Trump administration official told Watters that Generation Z (to which she is part of) is lazy, born with silver spoons in their mouths, had become accustomed to getting everything handed to them, and should be drafted into the military and sent to Iran or Cuba.
While Leavitt said the word “communist,” “communism” or “commie” at least ten times in the interview prior to her statement on Gen Z, she did not specify that only Gen Z communists are lazy. While her statement implied that all members of Gen Z are lazy, she now claims that the statement was taken out of context.
Watters, a 47-year-old Gen X host who speaks to a boomer audience with a median age of 69, said that Americans in their 20s are complaining that things are expensive.
He then said “yes, things are expensive when you don’t have a real job,” failing to mention that immigrants, both legal and illegal, are soaking up many jobs which would normally be held by people in their 20s. “Right,” Leavitt agreed.
The Fox News host then asked the Press Secretary if she thinks Gen Z’s complaining is gaining traction.
“Unfortunately I do, because this generation, my generation, I hate to say it, Gen Z and those younger than me have been raised with just silver spoons in their mouth, just getting everything handed to them,” Leavitt said in a statement which implied the entire zoomer generation is lazy.
The Trump administration official failed to mention the “Bidenflation” Gen Z dealt with after their lives were turned upside down by Covid, or the members of Gen Z who were forced by their parents to take the harmful Covid gene-therapy injections.
The Press Secretary also failed to mention all of the H1B aliens, legal immigrants and illegal aliens who have taken jobs away from Americans while also driving up home prices.
Additionally, she made no mention of how every zoomer employee pays money to boomers via Social Security, yet faces a future retirement long after Social Security runs out.
Even worse, Leavitt went on to endorse the forceful military conscription of Gen Z, just to send them off to die in Iran or Cuba.
Watters moved the interview topic from Gen Z being lazy to a final solution to the zoomer question.
“I say, you know, if they misbehave, just make all these young kids join the Army,” Watters said, referring bringing back the draft. “Right? Shape them up! …”
Leavitt interjected with passion in her voice and a glow in her eyes.
“Or send them to Cuba!” Leavitt exclaimed. “Send them to Iran!”
Despite being a zoomer, it is likely she would prefer to not suffer this fate herself.
Following a massive backlash to her comments, the White House official responded in a social media post Sunday, defending herself:
I am seeing a lot of bad faith actors take my comments from this interview out of context. So here’s the full interview, and let me expound.
This interview was about the rise of communism on the Left, and I was asked by Jesse Watters why so many young people are buying the false promise of “free stuff” being sold by communist politicians.
My answer: a combination of laziness, yes, and the liberal indoctrination that has been taking place in our education system for far too long. There are far-left educators pumping students’ heads with garbage, convincing them that hard work and sacrifice won’t pay off down the road because they want them totally reliant on the government instead.
I went on to say that’s why President Trump is a huge advocate for school choice, and why so many parents I know are turning to homeschooling. Good parenting matters more than anything, but a solid, civics-based education is also vitally important.
I care enough about our country to tell uncomfortable truths. And it’s an undeniable fact that a growing number of young people in our country are falling for the lies of socialism and communism, sold to them by anti-American politicians who’ve never built anything, offer no real solutions, and are intent on tearing down everything that makes this country great.
At the same time, it’s also true that many Gen Z Americans are hardworking, entrepreneurial, and deeply patriotic, and it’s vital we protect the American Dream for them. That’s why I am honored to work for President Trump and speak on behalf of an administration that is implementing the right policies to do this: lower taxes, less regulation, stopping Wall Street from purchasing single-family homes, Trump Accounts, and the deportation of illegal aliens who are taking our housing and jobs. There is more work to do, which is why President Trump and our entire administration won’t stop fighting to make life better and more affordable for young people.
As the President has correctly warned, “communism is the enemy of free people everywhere. It is the enemy of the Constitution. Above all, it is the enemy of July 4, 1776.”
So I will continue to call out the radical Democrats, socialists, and communists who are lying to our youth, and I know the President will continue to pursue an economic and domestic agenda that expands and strengthens the American Dream for generations to come.
Some suspect the 28-year-old’s generational self-hatred comes from her marriage to 60-year-old boomer-adjacent real estate developer Nicholas Riccio, as boomers often complain zoomers are lazy and spoiled, despite boomers getting to enjoy the most prosperous era of American history before pulling up the ladder behind them.
