A man who murdered his mother and father in 2024 said he had no qualms about it because they blocked him from transitioning from male to female.
The disturbing admission from Collin Troy Bailey, 30, AKA Mia Bailey, came during a Washington City, Utah, police interrogation a day after he killed his parents on June 18, blaming them for failing to address a decline in his mental health, which he says could have been remedied with gender transition surgery.
In new interrogation video obtained by KUTV, Bailey told investigators, “I told them I was going to kill myself so many times,” and “My mental ability was declining, that’s why I needed that surgery.”
Bailey accused his family of being abusive, said he was homeless, and claimed he was $20,000 in debt due to transitioning costs, including hormone replacement drugs.
Bailey said his mother’s call to the hospital derailing his transition surgery was what drove him over the edge.
“She was trying to sabotage it. She always had boundary issues,” Bailey told the interrogator. “I had one thing going on, and she took that away from me. […] She can’t say sorry to save her life, apparently. And I gave her so many chances throughout my life.”
He added, “Enough is enough, I’m taking someone with me”.
“I went to my parents to do the deed. Kill them,” Bailey said. “It was spur-of-the-moment. I don’t regret it. I hate them. That was the last straw.”
The transgender individual described shooting 12 rounds at his parents and one round at his brother, before laughing as he recounted fleeing from police helicopters through a neighborhood.
He also described wanting to kill himself after the murders either by jumping off a cliff or suicide by cop.
“So much for family,” he said. “I spent years trying to fix that broken a** family. Eventually, I had to get out, either going to kill myself or kill.”
The trans killer was sentenced to two consecutive 25-year prison terms, one for each parent he killed, and is being housed in a male correctional facility, in accordance with Utah law.

He said his parents failed to address his mental decline that would have been solved with chopping off his male parts. Well boy, that IS a mental illness. The mutilation surgery would have just worsened it by helping you live a lie that you are a girl. The radical trans community is very dangerous and violent. I don’t like government overstepping but I would support putting those individuals on a watch list and stop all trans surgeries for teens and young adults who seem to be the most likely to kill people over it.
His parents should have kicked him to the curb long ago, seek mental help or get the Frick out.
