Trump Admits US Went To War With Iran For Israel

During his Thursday evening interview with Sean Hannity, President Donald Trump admitted that the U.S. went to war with Iran for Israel, as well as for the Gulf state allies.

“We’re doing it to help Israel, and to help Saudi Arabia, and to help Qatar and UAE, and you know, Kuwait, and other countries, Bahrain,” Trump said.

The State Department has already confirmed the U.S. went to war for Israel.

“…the United States decided to act against the regime in collective self-defense of Israel,” the State Department said April 21.

Trump also discussed the uranium snatch-and-grab suicide mission with Hannity, with conflicting statements.

“We were thinking about doing it early on,” the President said of the daring mission to capture what he refers to as the “dust”. “No I don’t think it’s necessary except from a public relations standpoint.”

“I’m the one who said we’re going to get it, and we’re going to get it,” he then told Hannity.

On March 4 Trump acknowledged the fact that America struck Iran to defend Israel.

“And I think if we didn’t do it first they would have done it to Israel,” Trump said, referring the U.S. military strikes against Iran.

Trump also countered a statement by Secretary of State Marco Rubio about which country made the decision to attack Iran, the U.S. or Israel.

Trump was asked by a reporter on March 3 “Did Israel force your hand to launch these strikes against Iran? Did Netanyahu pull the United States into this war?”

“No. I might have forced their hand,” the President said.

A day earlier Rubio had a different story behind the war – that Israel made the decision to attack Iran, and that the U.S. was dragged in after it.

“The President made the very wise decision—we knew that there was going to be an Israeli action, we knew that that would precipitate an attack against American forces, and we knew that if we didn’t preemptively go after them before they launched those attacks, we would suffer higher casualties,” Rubio said March 2.
