President Trump posted a lengthy tirade against Congressman Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) on Sunday, lying about the politician’s voting record in an attempt to dissuade voters from reelecting him and instead voting for his primary opponent Ed Gallrein.
Beginning the Truth Social message with ad-hominem attacks, POTUS called Massie a “third rate congressman” who is “weak and pathetic.”
“He is the worst ‘Republican’ congressman in history,” Trump boldly claimed.
Next, the president accused Massie of voting against “tax cuts, the wall, law enforcement, and in favor of the transgender mutilization [sic] of our children men playing in women’s sports and so many more horrible things.”
The congressman’s voting record is much more nuanced than Trump described, and some of the claims are downright false.
Massie voted against Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill that extended and expanded 2017 tax cuts due to the legislation adding to America’s massive deficit and increasing the overall debt.
The Kentucky politician did support the original 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, but voted “no” last year in protest of the package’s negative fiscal impact.
Massie also previously voted for over $5 billion in 2019 to fund Trump’s border wall and co-sponsored bills for more wall money in 2023, but opposed Trump’s 2019 national emergency declaration to redirect funds for the wall because only Congress has control of appropriations and the move was a violation of the separation of powers.
Voting against the border wall bill, which also allocated money to border enforcement, was a decision made over the bill’s increase in spending and debt, not in opposition to the wall itself, according to Massie.
The accusation that Massie has voted against “law enforcement” is ludicrous as his record is clearly pro-LEO and the only action POTUS could possibly be suggest was somehow not supportive of the police was when he voted against awarding Congressional Gold Medals to Capitol Police and others for their roles in the Jan. 6, 2021 debacle.
The congressman objected to the officers being awarded for allegedly helping thwart an “insurrection.”
Again taking issue with the federal government’s outrageous spending, Rep. Massie voted against a recent bill boosting funding for ICE and Border Patrol.
Lastly, Massie has staunchly opposed the transgender mutilation of children and men playing in women’s sports.
He voted for a bill to protect women’s sports last year, supporting HR 1028 the “Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act” in Judiciary Committee.
“The bill prohibits men from competing against women in federally sanctioned amateur athletic competitions,” Massie wrote on Facebook.
The Kentucky congressman has also backed restrictions on gender-affirming care for minors and opposed it being taxpayer-funded.
Admitting restricting trans surgeries for minors was a “win” in last year’s budget reconciliation bill, Massie clarified he voted no because it would “significantly increase U.S. budget deficits in the near term, negatively impacting all Americans through sustained inflation and high interest rates,” adding trillions of dollars to the federal deficit over 10 years.
FactCheck.org reported, “Massie had sought to amend the reconciliation bill to address federal jurisdiction in various cases of gender-affirming surgery. When the bill made its way through the Senate, according to Massie, the legislation allowed for funding of such medical procedures. Alluding to the MAGA Kentucky ad, Massie said on X, ‘What’s ironic is the senate stripped the ban on sex changes for minors from the BBB (referenced in the ad), so now everyone supporting the current BBB is for sex change for minors, using their logic?’”
The Massie-obsessed president posted another message attacking the Kentucky congressman on Monday morning.
He wrote, “The worst Congressman in the long and storied history of the Republican Party, is Thomas Massie. He is an obstructionist and a fool. Vote him out of office tomorrow, Tuesday. It will be a great day for America! President DJT.”

Massie is one of the best we have in Congress. If we had about 450 more like him we’d probably have government transparency, keep/restore all our rights, have a balanced budget and be working on the deficit. We’d also be indicting and arresting the Epstein pedos. Anyone against Massie is bought and paid for by foreign interests.

We do not know the causes of Trump’s behavior, whether it be coercion, blackmail, corruption. The more important thing is to recognize that Trump has turned bad, and it will not change. After what Trump has done the past 3 months, he can never recover his reputation. The betrayal is too great.
