Two teenagers are now in custody and a third suspect is being sought after an apparently random shooting spree in Austin, Texas that left four people injured.

The suspects drove around the city in a stolen vehicle, opening fire on apartment building, houses and fire stations.

The two teenagers, aged 15 and 17, were apprehended after they stopped their stolen car and attempted to flee. A third person was in the vehicle and managed to escape.

It’s unclear at this point whether the third person was involved in the shooting.

Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis said stolen firearms were used.

A shelter-in-place order was issued for a large segment of the south of the city while authorities sought the suspects. After two were apprehended, the order was lifted.

Four people were taken to hospital, one with critical injuries.

The suspects stole at least four vehicles as they traveled around the city, Davis said.

“We don’t have any specific motive that has been identified. In fact, these actions appear to be random,” Mayor Kirk Watson said.
