𝕏 owner Elon Musk called attention to the December murder of UK teenager Henry Nowak, pointing out the massive double-standard in public reactions to the young Brit’s killing and the death of George Floyd.
Musk wrote, “There were massive international protests over George Floyd and those police involved were severely punished with long prison sentences, yet the police responsible here did not even lose their jobs! An incredibly unjust double-standard!”
The Floyd case has been endlessly examined, with the deceased being arrested for using counterfeit money at a store, swallowing meth and fentanyl pills while struggling with officers and dying while a cop knelt on his neck.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner (Dr. Andrew Baker) noted Floyd swallowing 11 ng/mL fentanyl, 19 ng/mL methamphetamine, and norfentanyl was a “fatal level under normal circumstances,” which would be enough to label the death an OD if found dead at home with no other factors.
In the end, Floyd’s death was ruled a homicide via restraint, with fentanyl and heart disease added as contributing factors.
Officer Derek Chauvin was sentenced to over 22 years in prison for second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter by the state in addition to a federal conviction of depriving Floyd of his civil rights that resulted in a 21-year sentence.
The other three officers were convicted of aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter and received several years in jail.
All four Minnesota policemen were fired from their jobs as well.
Meanwhile, in Nowak’s case, 23-year-old Sikh man Vickrum Digwa fatally stabbed the 18-year-old on December 3, 2025, and police who responded handcuffed Nowak instead of providing medical aid because Digwa accused him of racism.
Digwa also called his brother, mother and father to the scene of the crime, with the mom allegedly taking the knife used in the murder back to the family home where it was later found by police.
Musk offered to “fund a wrongful death lawsuit against these disgusting excuses for law enforcement” in response to an update claiming Nowak was heard on police bodycam footage saying he couldn’t breathe during the incident.
Dozens of other social media users have been blasting police for failing to render aid and comparing the killing to the George Floyd debacle that stirred debate across the world and resulted in violent protests across the U.S.
