A Texas man is being hailed as a Second Amendment hero after holding a culprit involved in the recent Austin shooting spree at gunpoint, demonstrating how law-abiding citizens can use firearms to neutralize threats from armed criminals.
Three teenagers were arrested over the weekend for shooting four innocent people in 12 separate incidents across the Texas capital, in addition to stealing a firearm and multiple cars.
Manor, Texas, resident Justin Newlin told Fox 7 that he saw a SWAT team up and down the road looking for the trio of armed fugitives and was told to go home and let law enforcement officers do their jobs.
Justin Newlin recalls the moments he says found the Austin shooting spree suspects hiding in his barn in Manor.

We spoke to him on Sunday night, just hours after two of the teenage suspects had been caught. He says he held one of them at gunpoint until law enforcement was able… pic.twitter.com/9dEhEyHNPD
“As I went home, I noticed my barn doors were open – which I did leave open – and I decided at that time to go ahead and clear them to make sure nobody was in there. I go to the front door of one, open it and nobody was in there. I go around to the side, I try to open the side door and can’t open it. I had to literally shove my way in and when I did, there’s two suspects sitting right there on each side of the door,” he explained.
The good Samaritan told the boys to hang tight and walked toward his truck to grab his gun while also attempting to wave down nearby police officers.
“As I’m going in my truck to get my gun, I hear them running out behind me,” Newlin added. “I turned around out of nowhere and started running after one of them screaming, ‘Hey! Stop! I’ll shoot, I’ll shoot!’ I eventually cornered him at the fence line and held him at gunpoint until state troopers and SWAT were able to capture him. And, the other gentleman they caught right down the street.”
“The guy did not resist one bit because I let it know from the get-go that if you move, I will shoot,” he told the outlet. “There’s a bunch of elderly people that live around me and I kind of took it into my hand to be the protector around here. So that’s what I do. This is nothing out of the ordinary for me to spring into action like this. I wanna be part of the action.”
Social media users praised Newlin for taking action:

Fine job Sir! Protection of private property and doing his civic duty, no wonder why they hate guns.
Looking forward to a seething brown leftist on this site to somehow blame Trump or “the Jews” even though it’s a positive article.
