President Donald Trump tore into former President Barack Obama at the G7 summit in France Wednesday, slamming his predecessor’s previous deal with Iran and criticizing him as a “stupid son of a bitch.”
The brutal remark targeting the 44th president came during a panel discussion alongside Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, as Trump explained why his latest deal with Iran is superior to Obama’s JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action).
“Nobody could have made this deal,” Trump said. “I mean, the JCPOA, done by Obama, he handed them $1.7 billion in cash… green cash from banks into a Boeing 757 and flew it into Iran, and they stood at the plane!”
“I have pictures of it, like, ‘Oh my, look at this money he’s giving us.’ He tried to bribe his way out. They didn’t do that. Nobody mentions that. $1.7 billion and hundreds of millions of dollars – they tried to bribe their way out of it.”
“And you know what the Iranians did?” Trump continued. “They laughed at Obama, and they said he’s a stupid son of a bitch!”
While the full details of President Trump’s deal with Iran are still forthcoming, the agreement has been criticized for potentially giving Tehran access to a $300 billion fund somewhat similar to Obama’s deal; however, the president has denied the reporting, calling it a “false story.”
Vice President JD Vance has also expressed that the $300 billion reconstruction fund would be coming from Gulf nations, not from the United States.
The president also indicated he could continue “dropping bombs” on Iran if he’s not pleased with the deal.
Trump said Tuesday he plans to read the peace deal “word-by-word” after it’s finalized so the media can’t misrepresent it, saying that “In addition to that, the Strait is going to be open toll-free, and it’s toll-free beyond the 60 days.”
