Ukraine has accused Russia of “biological terrorism” for dumping the carcasses of anthrax-infested livestock near residential areas of the country.
Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Agency has said occupying Russian authorities dumped infected carcasses in 50 burial sites across the Kherson region, including ten that are “particularly dangerous” for the local population.
“The deliberate or negligent creation of conditions for an anthrax outbreak is yet another crime committed by the aggressor state of Russia and constitutes an act of biological terrorism against civilians living in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine,” the agency said in a statement.
The livestock are apparently being buried rather than incinerated.
Occupying Russian forces are also accused of having failed to put up protective fencing or take other measures to ensure the disease, which can be fatal to humans, is not transmitted.
Anthrax spores can survive in the soil for decades.
Inhalation of spores is fatal in nearly 100% of cases.
The Defence Intelligence Agency went further and accused Russia of potentially planning a “false-flag operation.”
“In addition to a potential kinetic strike on sites containing anthrax-contaminated animal burial grounds, such a scenario could also involve an information and propaganda campaign aimed at accusing Ukraine of developing or using so-called ‘biological’ weapons,” the agency said.
The accusation comes as President Trump again offers to help end the Russia-Ukraine war.
Over the weekend, he spoke with Russian leader Vladimir Putin by phone.
“The US President reaffirmed his readiness to facilitate an early termination of the hostilities and the search for peaceful solutions to the crisis,” Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said in a statement on Sunday.
“The Russian President reaffirmed our commitment to a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict, with due consideration for Russia’s known principled approaches,” he continue.
“No matter how hard the Kyiv regime clings to the remaining fortified areas, our army will definitely take them.”
Ushakov said White House special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner “will carry on their mediation efforts and are ready to come to Moscow.”
President Trump also spoke to Ukraine’s leader, Volodymyr Zelensky.
“There is a real prospect to put an end to this war, and America’s resolve is decisive,” Zelenskyy wrote in an X post on Saturday.
“We have agreed to continue these discussions during the NATO Summit in [Ankara, Turkey].”
Last week, Russia launched one of its largest air assaults of the entire war against Ukraine.
Over 2,000 drones were as well as missiles were launched against the capital, Kyiv, and other targets across the country.
Ukraine has also stepped up its “influence operation” to bring Putin to the negotiating table, targeting key infrastructure in Russia including oil and gas facilities.
On Saturday, Ukraine hit targets around Russia’s second city, St Petersburg.
Attacks on fuel infrastructure have led to shortages across Russia.

Why are my comments always critiqued by a monitor? Is it because I’m not a boiler room poster being paid by the show to say what they want them to say and avoid what they want them to avoid?
Start a new account with Commonality2, say what they want to hear, and then once your posts are visible, you are free and clear to post whatever you like, including shoving red maga caps up the rectum of APrisoner 🙂
