A bizarre controversy erupted in the music world last week after country music sensation Charley Crockett pissed off satanists by removing a “satanic doo-wop” band from two shows on his current Age of the Ram tour.
The band, Twin Temple, posted to Instagram on Thursday, “Today we were informed that Charley Crockett has decided to remove Twin Temple from his upcoming shows next week due to our Satanic imagery. Unfortunately, that means we will not be able to perform for you next week as planned. We are really disappointed as we were looking forward to getting back out and seeing you, and also what it meant as far as bringing different types of people and music lovers together. We are sorry to everyone who was planning to see us. We’re grateful for your support, not only of Twin Temple, but more importantly of artistic freedom. HAIL SATAN! 93/93.”
The “93/93” at the end of the message is a nod to Aleister Crowley’s Thelema occult philosophy.
The band openly promotes satanism by handing out pro-Satan pamphlets at shows, conducting “black mass” satanic ceremonies onstage, chanting, “Hail Satan,” and having their crowds do the same.

Explaining why they were an opening act in the first place and why he removed them from his tour, Crockett told Rolling Stone Magazine, “I thought they were like Black Sabbath, but they ain’t. Not today, Satan.”
In a social media post, Crockett wrote, “Fuck Trump. Fuck Epstein. But hail Satan? Not me Jack.”
A since-deleted social media post went into more detail, with the “Man From Waco” singer saying he “won’t conform” and is “not sorry,” adding, “Don’t believe in any kind of spiritual power? I’m sorry to hear that. God is the fabric that ties us all together.”
“The creator gave us free will. But with free will comes the burden of choice. You have rights, and so do I. I’m standing on mine,” Crockett wrote.
The Texas musician also claimed he’s received numerous violent threats over the situation.
“If they did it to Jesus, imagine what they’ll do to you,” Crockett posted along with a picture of the legendary Johnny Cash.
On Friday, rock icon Jack White of The White Stripes offered Twin Temple an opening slot on his solo tour for the new album Frozen Charlotte, writing, “Twin Temple, would you like to open my show in L.A. on September 29th at the Hollywood Palladium? Let me know. Get in front of me Satan!”
Twin Temple agreed to open for White, responding in his comment section, “Unholy hell…. Sir Jack, you have no idea what this means to us. Lifelong fans- dead leaves on the dirty ground was one of the first songs I (Alex) ever learned on guitar. We were actually planning on coming to this show. It would be a most infernal pleasure to play the devils music with you.”
Alex Jones previously trashed the satanic band after a Los Angeles Times article titled, “A new generation of L.A. Satanists finds community in blasphemous times,” focused on Twin Temple.
The band shared a clip from Jones’ broadcast in 2019 writing, “Remember when Alex Jones devoted an episode of Info Wars to us & the fact we had turned ourselves over to Pure Evil? That was fun, we got some cool death threats. Never surrender, resist and Hail Satan!”
