Former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) warned Republicans are going to get “slaughtered” in the November midterms, saying the GOP may lose both Houses of Congress.
The former devout MAGA supporter told her prediction to Politico’s Dasha Burns, saying the MAGA base is upset with President Donald Trump over the Iran war.
“I was so shocked by his statement of taking out an entire civilization of people,” MTG said, regarding a recent Trump Truth Social post. “That is rhetoric that we have never heard from any president of the United States and I don’t think any world [leader]. I was so, so disturbed by that. And to me, that displayed a severe mental state, that someone would say those words.”

MTG added that the MAGA coalition is “all divided right now” and that the fractures will be obvious come November.
“I’ll say this: This pro-war, the neocon, whatever this new gross version of MAGA is, it’s not going to last because the younger generations just don’t support it,” she said.
“Oh, I’ve been saying, I think I said it early in 2025, Republicans are going to get slaughtered in the midterms,” she said, adding, “I think right now it’s definitely losing the House and potentially the Senate.”
The former congresswoman, who resigned in early January, went on to say she voted for Republican Clay Fuller, who won her vacated House seat in a special election last week, saying, “I support Republicans. Yeah, I supported the Republican candidate.”
She noted, however, that Georgia is in a “danger zone” where it could flip blue, and predicted that Democrat Jon Ossoff would likely keep his Georgia Senate seat.
Despite voting for her predecessor, MTG acknowledged she would like both parties to be “burned down to the ground,” and said she’s “definitely leaning more [toward] calling myself an independent,” adding that she hasn’t yet changed her party registration.
MTG said she’s enjoying her life outside of politics, but left the door open for possibly running as a third-party candidate in the future, telling the interviewer, “I can’t even begin to answer that.”
She also highlighted alliances with Democrats across the aisle, like with Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) on the Epstein files, that could potentially lead to the formation of a new political party, but was adamant she could never bring herself to vote Democrat because of party’s woke policies.
More so, Greene said she’s interested in “America first” policies and candidates.
“But I am interested in looking for candidates that are willing to put these special interest issues aside and find new common ground issues that can truly serve America, America first,” she said. “That’s what I care about. America first. No more foreign wars, no more money to foreign countries, let’s keep our money here and figure out how to help Americans.”
