Former reality TV star Spencer Pratt is turning up the heat in the Los Angeles mayoral race by highlighting the current city government’s failures and incompetency.

The former MTV “The Hills” cast member announced his candidacy on January 7 with a rally dubbed “They let us burn,” a year after the Palisades wildfires tore through the illustrious Pacific Palisades enclave of Los Angeles where he lived.

Pratt’s wife Heidi Montag recently detailed the devastation of losing all her family’s possessions to the wildfires, pointing out they could have been prevented.

Pratt has launched an aggressive non-partisan campaign taking aim at Democrats that have presided over the destruction of his city, including California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.

In one of his latest ads, Pratt showed the multimillion dollar homes of his mayoral opponents Mayor Bass and socialist LA city council member Nithya Raman, underscoring how the wealthy liberal elites are out of touch and don’t have to deal with the same problems everyday Angelenos do.

“This is where I live,” Pratt says in comparison, showing his Airstream mobile home set up in the rubble where his former home stood.

“They let my home burn down. I know what the consequences of failed leadership are, that’s why I’m running for mayor. For my son and the rest of us Angelenos that want to stop these corrupt politicians from destroying our city. We are going to get the golden age of Los Angeles back.”

Council member Raman objected to the appearance of her home in the ad, telling Us Weekly, “Filming outside my home, where I live with my young children, feels unnecessary and reckless.”

“Nithya just validating the entire premise of our commercial,” Pratt shot back on X. “She doesn’t care if there’s homeless drug addicts in front of your home, in front of your kids school, but God help her if a man in a suit takes a picture on the public street for two minutes.”

Pratt’s message appears to be resonating with some residents.

In a viral video, a Los Angeles woman said she’d vote for Pratt after seeing three homeless people defecating on the street in her area.

A fan made video is also helping Pratt make his case by producing ads illustrating how Democrats have destroyed Los Angeles.

Despite being a registered Republican, Pratt is running as a non-partisan and will face his first big hurdle in the June 2 primary election, where he must earn enough votes to finish in the top two and advance to the November runoff.
