Obama Says Trump Has Caused Tension In His Marriage

In an interview with The New Yorker magazine on Monday former President Barack Obama said that President Donald Trump has caused tension in his marriage to Michelle.

When discussing the demands of his schedule, the former President told The New Yorker that Michelle has great concern regarding his ongoing political activities.

“She wants to see her husband easing up and spending more time with her, enjoying what remains of our lives,” Barack said.

Regarding the pressure to advocate for Democrat candidates and liberal ideas in the face of upcoming elections, Barack said:

“It does create a genuine tension in our household, and it frustrates her. I’m more forgiving of it, in the sense that I understand why people feel that way, because people aren’t looking at me in historical comparison to other Presidents,” the former President said. “They don’t care about the fact that no other ex-President was the main surrogate for the Party for four election cycles after they left office.”

Perhaps one of Barack’s most notable statements is that he is still the main surrogate for the Democrat party, despite leaving office a decade ago.

While it may come as a surprise to some, there will be 18-year-olds voting in the 2026 midterm elections who do not remember the Obama presidency, only being about 8 when the Democrat left office.

“The fact that people want me to be ‘doing more’ is a good sign,” Barack said, going on to explain that it indicates “there has not been as decided a shift in American attitudes as we are making out. And that’s part of the reason people are frustrated. Sometimes it’s directed toward me, which is fine because they kind of sense, Wait, how can we be doing this when I know that’s not who we were? And I don’t think it’s really who we are now.”

The former President was likely referring to the ultra-radical Left’s takeover of liberal political discourse and the Right’s pushback with populist Donald Trump, although that move began under his second term.

The Gateway Pundit detailed the specific activities Barack has been focusing on in the political sphere.

“He pointed to policies implemented by the Trump Administration, ranging from withdrawing the United States from the Paris climate accords to gutting Obamacare,” The Gateway Pundit said Tuesday. “But his top project over the past several months has been supporting Democrat efforts to steal more Republican House seats. For example, his mug was all over Virginia airwaves, lying to the residents about why they needed to support Democrats violating the state constitution and back the most gerrymandered map in the country. Obama was also heavily involved in helping California Governor Gavin Newsom convince voters to back a 48-4 Democratic map that wiped out five GOP congressional seats.”

Most recently, Barack weighed into the Supreme Court congressional redistricting ruling.

“Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities – so long as they do it under the guise of ‘partisanship’ rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach,” Barack said. “The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers – not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

With some Democrats holding concerns over the radical path the party has taken in recent years, Barack may be trying to bring moderates back into the voting booths, despite speculation from those on the Right who believe it is all an election ploy, with the party retaining their radical agendas.
