Secretary of State Marco Rubio and President Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff traveled to Miami on Saturday to meet with the Prime Minister of Qatar, as efforts to secure a peace deal with Iran continue.
The US and Iran are currently negotiating over the terms of a one-page memo to bring the war to an end and establish a more detailed framework for peace.
Qatar has been playing a mediating role in the discussions, working behind the scenes while Pakistan has serve as an official middleman.
Rubio and Witkoff are reported to have been sent together because President Trump “views them as especially effective in negotiations with Iran,” Axios reports.
Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani had been in Washington meeting with Vice President JD Vance and was due to return straight to Doha, but instead went to Miami to meet Rubio and Witkoff.
Al-Thani is reported to have spoken with the Saudi Foreign Minister to discuss the mediation.
A source who spoke to Axios said Qatar, Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are working in tandem to push for an agreement.
“The mediators are urging both parties to de-escalate and focus on getting a deal.”
Yesterday, Alex Jones Live reported that an internal power struggle is complicating negotiations to end the war.
Sources familiar with the negotiations spoke to The New York Post and said the pro-war and pro-deal factions are currently fighting behind the scenes.
The Post reports, “Though Iran’s political elites—including its president, foreign minister and parliamentary speaker—have been at the center of efforts to hammer out peace terms, regional sources told The Post that it’s Iran’s military leadership that ultimately has the power to accept or reject any agreement.”
Support for the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC) is currently at a high, and many within the Corps want to see the war continue.
“One faction there right now is at its highest point ever in its history — the IRGC,” a source told The Post.
“The nationalist feeling (that comes with war) gives them the highest pedestal.”
In recent days, Iran has launched a number of smaller scale attacks designed to provoke an American response.
President Trump has refused to reveal exactly what kind of provocation would draw the US and Iran back into an all-out war.
Trump told a reporter “You’ll find out” when that moment is reached.

How shocking that Trump would get the State Department involved in negotiations. Rubio has contributed nothing significant to the effort. But he is better than having avowed zionists Kushner and Witkoff running things. Witkoff is still in a position to sabotage negotiations. If Rubio angers him, then he reports back to his friend Rubio, and then Rubio is in trouble with Trump.
The zionists are already trying to get Vance out of contention because he is not an enthusiastic supporter of the war. Rubio is getting good press as a “do it all” man who really does little.
Qatar
Nothing more than a tax haven, the oasis of the rich and elite.
A country made up for that particular reason.
It is funny, the taxpayer is told austerity, while they jet set around the place.
They cannot use a phone like normal average people do.
They would rather waste hard earned, slaved blood soaked working hands of American taxpayers.
And what is it with those a-rab fellas wearing dresses and the girls wearing hoods like some klan members?
Remember how trump made a stink about that ukraine boy, the one that is playing pongo, er, soldier and made him dress in a suit.
Yet he gladly welcomes a fella prancing around in a dress.
Highly insulting to the American taxpayers.
Republicans put up with that rich and elite tranny bullshit.
Men in dresses, just another excuse for those 3rd world drag queens.
Just remember, a dress is still a dress, they are not mens pants no matter how you look at it.
Next they will have boys in girls sports.
No wait, they do.
All part of that homosexual driven agenda.
From a-rab men in dresses to males in sports for women.
Cite for us a single Arab nation which allows boys in girls sports. You make things up.
I find irrelevancy to be highly insulting.
What about the actual subject here?
