The US-backed Israeli war against Iran will continue for the foreseeable future, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told CBS’ 60 Minutes.
In a clip promoting the interview airing later Sunday evening, Netanyahu claimed the war must continue because Iran is still enriching uranium, which could be used to produce nuclear weapons.
“Is the war with Iran over, and if it isn’t, who will decide when it is?” asked 60 Minutes’ Major Garrett.
“I think it accomplished a great deal, but it’s not over because there’s still nuclear material in which uranium that has to be taken out of Iran,” Netanyahu replied.

“There is still enrichment sites that have to be dismantled. There are still proxies that Iran supports, there are ballistic missiles that they still want to produce. Now, we’ve degraded a lot of it, but all of that is still there, and there’s work to be done.”
Asked how to go about removing highly enriched uranium from Iran, the Israeli PM responded, “You go in and you take it out,” saying it must be done “physically,” and possibly through military means, which he refused to elaborate on.
When Garrett pushed back, saying he was just wondering how long it would take to achieve the objective, Netanyahu replied, “I’m not going to give a timetable to it, but I’m going to say that’s a terrifically important mission.”
The Israeli PM’s comments come as President Trump on Sunday slammed ex-President Barack Obama on Truth Social for sending pallets of cash to the tune of $1.3 billion to Iran, saying, “He was not only good to them, he was great, actually going to their side, jettisoning Israel, and all other Allies, and giving Iran a major and very powerful new lease on life.”
“He was a disaster as our ‘Leader,’ but not as bad as Sleepy Joe Biden!” Trump wrote. “For 47 years the Iranians have been ‘tapping’ us along, keeping us waiting, killing our people with their roadside bombs, destroying protests, and recently wiping out 42,000 innocent, unarmed protestors, and laughing at our now GREAT AGAIN Country. They will be laughing no longer!”
In another Truth Social update Sunday afternoon, Trump expressed he was unhappy with the latest round of talks with Iran, saying their latest response was “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!”
Full Measure’s Sharyl Attkisson asked the President on Sunday whether the war was over, paused, or ongoing. Trump responded, “They’re militarily defeated – in their own minds maybe they don’t know that, but I think they do because I deal with them. And we cannot ever let Iran have a nuclear weapon but they are militarily defeated.”

Attkisson also asked about the political liability of Americans’ displeasure with rising oil and gas prices in response to the war, to which Trump answered that Iran cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.

I don’t doubt that Iran is playing a game. But what should be said of Trump drawing a hard line against Israel bombing Lebanon only for the jews to continue doing so? Has AIPAC been playing a long game against the U.S.? Shouldn’t anyone taking money from them have to declare themselves to be a foreign agent? What of Epstein’s program of compromising U.S. politicians and power brokers? Seems to me we should have a hands off policy in the Middle East and stop funding Israel.
