Former reality TV star and Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt responded after President Donald Trump blessed his campaign.

Asked whether he supported Pratt during an impromptu press conference Wednesday, Trump responded affirmatively, adding that he doubted the former The Hill‘s cast member’s chances in the state where election corruption runs rampant.

“I’d like to see him do well. He’s a character. I don’t know. I don’t know him. I assume he probably supports me. Does he support me?” the president asked a reporter, who responded, “I think.”

“Yeah, I heard he does. I heard he’s a big MAGA person,” Trump said. “He’s doing well. I don’t know. You have a rigged vote out there. That’s the problem. The votes are rigged.”

The president went on to criticize the state’s mail-in ballot voting system, saying, “If we had Jesus Christ come down and count the votes I would have won California because I do great with hispanics. But It’s a rigged vote — they sent out 38 million votes, no one knows where they’re going.”

Asked his thoughts on the president’s support, Pratt told TMZ, “Everybody wants me to succeed because L.A. is the most important city in the country.”

He added, “The only support I need is from moms that wanna feel safe in Los Angeles. I’m laser focused on that.”

Pratt has previously been photographed with Trump at events in California in 2009 and 2006.

Pratt has been making waves in recent months highlighting how his opponent, incumbent LA Mayor Karen Bass, failed horribly when confronting the wildfires that wiped out the glamorous Pacific Palisades neighborhood where he lived, and how crime and homelessness have increased under her leadership.

The heated race has led social media users to produce numerous AI campaign ads underscoring Pratt’s claims that LA has descended into lawlessness, with Pratt himself releasing several viral ads.

In an interview with CNN on Wednesday, Pratt explained he became a Republican after receiving death threats during his time on The Hills, prompting him to obtain a firearm and a concealed carry weapon license, at which point he learned that “The only people who supported CCWs were Republicans.”

In the same interview, Pratt responded that Jesus Christ was his political role model.

The primary for LA mayor will be held on June 2. If no candidate receives over 50%, the top two candidates advance to a runoff election to be held Nov. 3.
