Sick! Devil Horn-Wearing Satanist Delivers Invocation At Nevada County Commission Meeting

The Clark County Commission meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Tuesday allowed a self-described satanist to read an invocation ahead of the political discussion.

Merriam-Webster describes an invocation as:

  • the summoning of a deity or the supernatural. “his invocation of the ancient mystical powers.”
  • an incantation used to invoke a deity or the supernatural.

Democrat Clark County Chair Michael Naft introduced Aron Ra to the podium and a man wearing devil horns stepped up to the podium, declaring he represented the Satanic Temple.

Ra delivered a message “inspired by the seven tenets, or moral principals, of the Satanic Temple,” bashing all religions as being based in “ignorant savagery” created in times where “fearful” and “unenlightened” minds were manipulated do to a lack of “modern scientific knowledge.”

“Let us make rational decisions rather than imposing outdated authoritarian religious doctrine with varied interpretations, some more vile than others,” he stated.

After reciting several other tenets, Ra concluded his invocation by saying, “Hail Satan! The archetype or symbol of the bringer of knowledge, and hail thyself.”

Naft then ironically led those gathered at the meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance where Americans vow loyalty to “one Nation under God.”

The official Church of Satan 𝕏 account responded to a video of the speech, writing, “That’s not a Satanic Priest, it’s a political activist trolling you.”

While Ra may not be a “Satanic priest” as described in the social media post, he is definitely more than just a political activist troll.

During a 2022 interview with Christian conservative podcast host Jesse Lee Peterson, Ra said, “I am a satanist in the sense that I paid $25 for a membership to the Satanic Temple. Technically, that makes me a satanist.”

When Peterson asked the self-described atheist why he’d call himself a satanist if he doesn’t believe satan from the Bible exists, Ra said, “Because satanists don’t believe satan exists.”

Peterson asked, “So, then why do they call themselves satanists?”

Ra responded by directing Peterson to the website for the Church of Satan, founded by Anton LaVey in 1966, saying the group’s list of beliefs includes not believing “in an actual devil.”

The concept is absurd as both the Satanic Temple and Church of Satan include the name of “the devil” in their titles.

What’s more likely is that the groups are simply playing a part in the devil’s deception à la the common saying, “The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the world that he does not exist.”

Also in 2022, Ra delivered a speech at the Satanic Temple’s “SatanCon” event in Scottsdale, Arizona.

That same year, Ra delivered the invocation on behalf of the the Satanic Temple at the Idaho State Capitol on the National Day of Prayer, a blatant rebuke of America’s Christian roots.

One satanist wearing a priest-like outfit held a satanic bible and had a member rub ash on a young woman’s forehead, saying, “In the name of Lucifer, we anoint you in the ashes of the false messiah’s word.”

Ra has even interviewed the co-founder of the Satanic Temple, Lucien Greaves, about their beliefs.
