Signs Go Up at California Chevron Blaming Democrats for High Gas Prices

A Chevron gas station in California is informing motorists that gas prices are high in part due to terrible Democrat policies.

“Sacramento policies did this. Now you pay more,” a sign at a gas station tells customers.

“California politicians are choosing foreign oil and fuels over local jobs and lower costs.”

A QR code on the sign directs users to the Chevron Advocacy Network, where proponents of low gas prices can learn more about why rising costs are caused more by high taxes and regulations in the Democrat-run state than corporate greed.

An article on the site states:

Californians pay the highest gasoline taxes and fees of any state. These taxes and fees, combined with restrictions on energy production and refining, make gasoline more expensive in California than in any other state, making it harder for families and businesses to afford fuel.

For more than a century, Chevron has been proud to fuel California communities by reliably providing the energy that keeps our state moving. The Chevron Advocacy Network is standing up for California consumers—calling out years of costly, misguided energy policies and empowering advocates to speak directly to state lawmakers about the impact of high gas prices.

Democrat policies raising gas prices in the state include restricting local oil production and drilling, stringent refinery and emissions regulations, anti-fossil fuel green policies, and cap-and-trade programs that add nearly 50 cents per gallon.

The message to drivers getting hosed at the gas pump comes as fuel prices climb amid inflation and the Strait of Hormuz standoff, as the Trump administration scrambles to negotiate a deal to keep energy and commodity shipments flowing through the critical Middle East waterway.
