During a Friday press briefing, World Health Organization head Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned that the Ebola outbreak in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo is spreading at a rapid pace, announcing the agency has elevated the national spread risk from “high” to “very high.”
Then, in a Friday social media post, Tedros called the Ebola situation “deeply worrisome.”
“So far, 82 cases have been confirmed, with seven confirmed deaths. But we know the epidemic in the DRC is much larger. There are now almost 750 suspected cases and 177 suspected deaths,” he wrote.
The WHO director added, “These numbers are changing as surveillance efforts and laboratory testing is improving, but violence and insecurity are impeding the response.”
In two recent events, an Ebola treatment center in Rwampara was set on fire by adolescents who were reportedly upset after being blocked from retrieving the body of a friend who died of Ebola, and a crowd of protesters attacked the Rwampara General Hospital.
In Pakistan this week, gunmen killed a pair of police officers who were protecting vaccination teams distributing oral polio vaccines (OPV) to children, allegedly fighting back against the government for participating in a Western plot to sterilize Muslims.
Regarding the Ebola outbreak, a Monday report revealed at least six Americans have been exposed to the DRC’s deadly Bundigbyo strain of the Ebola virus, with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) expected to remove them from the Congo.
Ebola reared its ugly head just after the world briefly paused in fear of Hantavirus due to a cruise ship outbreak where three people died.
Tedros personally responded to Alex Jones about the outbreak, saying Hantavirus was not “COVID 2.0” and urging him “to consider the weight that words carry in moments like these.”
Jones responded to the WHO director, asking why he was being singled out by the unelected globalist health official.
