Senator Mitch McConnell was hospitalized on Sunday morning.
His office made an announcement, but without specifying the cause of the visit.
“Senator McConnell was admitted to the hospital this morning. He is receiving excellent care,” David Popp, spokesperson for the senator, said in a statement.
McConnell, 84, has been the subject of repeated health concerns in recent years.
In 2023, he visibly froze twice while speaking to reporters, and has suffered multiple falls, being confined to a wheelchair for his own safety.
In February, he was hospitalized with “flu-like symptoms.”
McConnell served as Senate Republican leader from 2007 to 2025, but announced shortly after President Trump’s return to the White House that he would not seek reelection.

This has to stop! Can we please have term limits now?
Honorable, decent people do not stay in office when incapacitated.
Selfish, evil people stay in privileged DC for themselves.
He ass should have been gone long time ago
They ALL need to be hospitalized, and then euthanized thru vaccinations.
