President Donald Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. blasted Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Wednesday, slamming him for misrepresenting parts of the recently forged Iran peace deal.
Cruz on Wednesday criticized the deal in an interview with The Daily Wire, saying, “What has been released so far suggests that, unfortunately, the president is getting, I think, very poor advice when it comes to this deal. History teaches that giving billions of dollars to theocratic lunatics who want to murder us is a bad idea. Under the terms of what’s been released, somewhere between $10 billion and $30 billion will flow to the Ayatollah immediately before they make even a single nuclear concession.
“I think that’s ill-advised. That money, if it goes to the Ayatollah, will go to fund terrorists trying to kill Americans and weapons that will be used to try to kill Americans. And it also appears to formalize a permanent role for the Islamic regime controlling the Strait of Hormuz. It is difficult to see what possible benefit to America could come from that.”
Cruz went on to praise Trump’s war on Iran and his destruction of the Iranian regime’s military capabilities, before adding, “It is not remotely in America’s interest for us to pay to rebuild that capacity that we just took out.”
Don Jr. took exception to the Texas senator’s criticisms, accusing him of spewing “fake news.”
“The only problem with this quote is that @tedcruz is lying thru his teeth about the deal. We’re not giving them a cent, and he knows that. Using fake news about the peace deal to undermine @realDonaldTrump is the opposite of MAGA,” the president’s first son wrote on X.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) deal’s terms have forced battle lines to be drawn in conservative circles, with pro-Israel critics slamming it as a win for Iran that hands them stacks of cash, while proponents praise the deal for preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.
For instance, The Daily Wire senior editor Ben Shapiro, a staunchly pro-Israel conservative, slammed the MOU on Fox Wednesday, calling it “a disaster that does not achieve any of the signal goals that were set by the administration at the beginning.”
Similarly, Fox News host and fellow neocon Mark Levin has been blasting the MOU nonstop on X, claiming it benefits Hezbollah terrorists who murdered Americans but who are now under US protection.
Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance has been front-and-center attempting to set the record straight on the deal, noting on Thursday it gives Iranians “ZERO dollars of American money,” unlike President Obama’s Iran nuclear deal.
The 14-point MOU peace plan establishes an immediate ceasefire for 60 days while working toward a more comprehensive agreement, and stipulates Iran “shall not procure or develop nuclear weapons,” while noting that the US would allow regional partners to invest at least $300 billion “for the reconstruction and economic development of” Iran.

I’ll believe Cruz in this case over the Pollyanna pie-in-the-sky magical thinking of an imaginary 300 billion development fund from unnamed “Gulf states” that hasn’t even been created yet and most likely never will. And when that fails to come into fruition the default is US tax dollars funding everything. That’s how the foreign aid relief / no bid insider reconstruction contracts, war profiteering game is played. You bomb the hell out of a place causing billions in damage so you can turn right around and bill the US taxpaying public for it (because that’s the Christian thing to do), while the globalist cabal overcharges for the repairs and flat out skims billions off the top. The majority of those hundreds of billions will be spent toward the oil infrastructure so BP and other foreign companies can swoop in with turn key facilities provided by US dollars and start looting Iran’s resources with minimal investment on their end. How many times has the US simply forgiven debts owned by other nations? It seems like 100% of the time, meanwhile, elsewhere in the world some countries are still making yearly payments on debts incurred from WW1.
How about getting NATO countries to chip in for that 300 billion price tag to reopen the Strait and not fire upon ships? Although, I could see the argument that they didn’t cause the Strait to become closed in the first place.
