Speaking during a keynote address at the JNS International Policy Summit in Jerusalem on Sunday, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee hinted that he’s worried about keeping his job amid President Trump’s rift with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Today, I checked President Trump’s social media to make sure this wasn’t my last speech in Israel,” he joked. “As you know, he typically fires people in the middle of the night by way of social media, so I wanted to make sure there was a reason for me to come here. I’m happy to report that so far, so good.”
Describing two instances in Washington, D.C. where he was confronted by pro-Palestine protesters, Huckabee said he told some friends, “I can’t wait to get out of this crazy town and get back to Jerusalem where I feel safe.”
After his friends laughed at the remark, Huckabee allegedly told them, “I’m not kidding; I really am anxious to get out of this crazy town and get back to Jerusalem, because I feel safe there.”

Later during the speech, Huckabee said “there would not be an America” if not for the Jewish religion.
Regarding the potential that Israel could be destroyed if it doesn’t stop provoking Iran and other Middle East nations, Huckabee said, “That this is not in the hands of any man or any country or any army on this earth. This land is in the hands of the Creator of the universe. And my confidence in Israel’s capacity not only to be here, but to last and to stay, is not because we have a great military and because Israel has a great military. It’s because all of us have a great God who has made a promise, and He will keep that promise.”

Netanyahu also spoke at the event, saying slanderous allegations against Jews – such as rumors that they “poison the wells, drink the blood of slain children, or carry vermin” – have led to his people being exiled and massacred.
At one point, the PM bizarrely stated he changed Israel’s security doctrine to allow the military to “initiate, attack and surprise” enemies “before they get a chance” to attack.
“Kill them first,” he shouted.
Netanyahu defended the IDF’s deadly strikes in Lebanon, alleging new data shows for every five terrorists killed only one civilian is murdered.
🇮🇱 Netanyahu:

"Five terrorists killed for every civilian that is harmed, 5 to 1."
Justifying civilian deaths in order to kill terrorists is outrageous; this is the real Netanyahu, he’s no different from Ben-Gvir.

“For years, people told us, ‘You cannot attack the soil of Iran.’ Yes, you can do Mossad operations. We did quite a few. I authorized many,” he continued.
