Two men preaching the Bible in Fort Worth, Texas, during last month’s Trinity Pride Fest were approached by a female police officer and threatened with a ticket for “offensive” speech in a video going viral this week.
“If someone is offended by your talking then we have a problem,” the cop told the guys.

One man, Rich Penkoski, argued, “That is a constitutional violation of our rights.”
When Penkoski said he didn’t care if anyone was offended, the officer said, “Okay, then I’ll write you the ticket and we can go from there.”
“Wait, you’re going to ticket us for ‘offensive’ speech?” asked the evangelist who filmed the incident, David Grisham, with the policewoman responding, “Yes, absolutely if someone is offended. It’s called disorderly conduct!”
Penkoski replied, “No, disorderly conduct has to be accompanied by conduct. I’m a retired police officer. 26 years federal law enforcement.”
The cop doubled down, saying she’d issue a citation “if someone complains that your language or what you’re saying is offensive.”
The Christian Post reported last week that “Fort Worth police spokesman Buddy Calzada said the department reviewed the June 27 encounter and acknowledged the officer ‘made certain statements that were not accurate.'”
The outlet also said, “The FWPD will provide ‘refresher training’ to police and new trainees on ‘First Amendment protections and related legal issues for persons expressing free speech, protesters, and other similar activities.'”
The police department claimed the ticket was issued over the preachers using their bullhorn in violation of the city’s noise ordinance, not for their speech, but the footage clearly shows that’s false.
Grisham is now suing the FWPD for violating his rights.
“This ordinance was not followed because no officer performed a decibel check. Officers failed to follow the Fort Worth ordinance,” said attorney CJ Grisham, who is not related to David Grisham.
Calzada continued to blatantly lie in a Wednesday update, saying, “At no time did officers prevent any individuals from expressing their views. Officers told the individuals they could continue exercising their rights without using an amplification device. However, the individuals willingly ceased protesting after the bullhorn was seized as part of the enforcement action.”
An additional video out of Fort Worth shows an officer at the “pride” parade that saying “sir” to a trans person is a “grey area” that could result in him getting ticketed for offensive language.

Nothing from the anti freedom movements is sincere. Once you treat them as sincere it is a death spiral into dictatorship hell.
To control speech is the gateway for dictatorship control.
The rich evil run woke communist don’t care about anyone being offended. It is just a powe play. Look at communist China, you think woke blue hairs can run their mouths there? About one second after taking power in a western republic the communists will get rid of the woke blue hair types.
Should have just been quiet and taken the ticket. …then sue for a civil rights violation! Arguing is done in the court, not on the street with a clueless cop.
Cops are allowed to legally lie (during interrogations) and take full advantage of that to lie and misrepresent the law in “investigations” like this. Once he they got the clear admission on video, multiple times, that their free speech was the issue, he should forced the ticket or arrest. Call their bluff…”you mean I’ll get arrested if I say this”….and continue doing it in front of the cop. Cops are easy to manipulate – it’s obvious that bull dyke is LGBT herself and was the one offended – that he could have got arrested right then and there, and probably manhandled as well. He could have quoted Biblical scripture and triggered the hell out of her. Otherwise, they have too much wiggle room afterwards without the “harm” being inflicted via an arrest. Which is what happened here after the fact with the department playing damage control.
No offensive speech means no free speech. Any word or sound can offend anyone. Such laws and enforcement is a death spiral into dictatorship hell.
For instance every sound out of a woke communist face offends the crap out of me.
It is just a way to grab power and destroy society to make dictatorship control.
