Democrats balked at President Donald Trump’s national address on election integrity exposing the Chinese government’s seizure of voter data from the 2020 election and the CIA’s efforts to downplay their meddling, with some calling for POTUS to be impeached or removed from office.

Trump on Thursday, attempting to drum up support for the SAVE Act, revealed that his administration had uncovered “the largest compromise of election data in history – resulting in China’s illicit acquisition of 220 million US voter files.”

“That information includes names, addresses, phone numbers, political party preferences, and other sensitive data that would be needed to register to vote, and engage in other nefarious activities,” the president said, adding the breach represented an “unprecedented election security nightmare.”

Naturally, rather than address the president’s startling revelations, Dems saw Trump’s primetime speech as an opportunity to attack him, claiming it signaled his intent to rig the upcoming midterms.

“Tonight was a pathetic attempt by Trump to deny what we all know is true — he lost the 2020 election,” said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), claiming his speech was an “attempt to lay the groundwork to rig the 2026 elections and undermine democracy.”

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) echoed the talking point, declaring, “We will not let Donald Trump and Republican extremists steal this election,” and accusing him of being a “feeble unhinged conspiracy-peddling 80-year-old failed president.”

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) succinctly chimed in calling President Trump a “loser.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said Trump was “spewing lies from six years ago,” instead of addressing rising costs.

Longtime Senator Jack Reed (D-R.I.) piled on saying Trump was trying to “position himself so that he can deny the results of this election.”

Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.) cast doubt on the president’s revelations, claiming what he said “is not true,” and is geared to make the public distrustful of America’s election system.

“The lies and the misinformation and the disinformation and distortions coming from this president and the White House, their cherry-picked intelligence, their select releases of information are designed to do one thing and one thing only, create this notion that elections were stolen, that there was interference that didn’t actually happen.”

Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) also got the memo, claiming Trump was “signaling his unmistakable intent to attack these elections and our voting rights, just as he tried to throw out our votes and seize the presidency in 2020.”

Democrat New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said the speech meant Trump could “see the writing on the wall,” and that he was preparing to blame any upcoming midterm losses on election interference.

Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) claimed the timeline Trump laid out made no sense and meant Democrats would have stolen the election “he himself controlled.”

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) remarked simply that he was bored by Trump’s speech.

Additionally, other Democrats – including California Gov. Gavin Newsom – called for the president to be impeached or removed via the 25th Amendment.

Meanwhile, members of the GOP took the president’s urgent message seriously, with Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) calling on Congress to revoke student visas for Chinese students.

CIA Director John Ratcliffe, whose agency was accused of helping cover up or downplay the election interference, noted the CIA in response to Trump’s speech had declassified documents supporting the his accusations.

Utah Sen. Mike Lee (R) noted America’s election system should be more secure than Olive Garden’s Never-Ending Pasta Pass, which requires a valid photo ID.
