Shocking Thermal Footage Shows Moment Frontier Jet Struck Pedestrian on Runway

Haunting infrared surveillance footage has emerged showing the moment a Frontier airplane hit a person who had jumped a fence and walked across the runway at Denver International Airport.

The harrowing incident unfolded Friday night as Frontier Flight 4345 was accelerating for takeoff from Denver en route to Los Angeles.

Footage shows the person casually walking across a runway after jumping a perimeter fence, before the Airbus A321 comes into frame at full takeoff speed.

The video stops just short of showing the moment of impact, but reports state the person was sucked into one of the jet’s turbine engines.

Another video shot by one of the jet’s 224 passengers showed a massive flash, a loud bang and sparks as the jet’s engine made impact.

Grisly photos taken in the aftermath appeared to show blood splatter on engine #2, which was heavily damaged following the impact.

Footage also showed passengers deplaning via a slide after the cabin started filling with smoke.

Audio featured the plane’s pilot reporting he was aborting takeoff and stopping on the runway because “We just hit somebody,” and “We have an engine fire,” before an air traffic controller disturbingly reports the runway is closed because “I do have limbs on the runway.”

The pedestrian has not yet been identified, and the fence was later “found to be intact,” according to Denver airport officials.
