Former President Joe Biden ranted about President Trump at a Democrat gala—then struggled to find his way off stage.
During his speech, Biden defended his record as president, and attacked President Trump again and again.
He said President Trump was deliberately destroying NATO and said his White House ballroom was a “vanity project.”
“Have you noticed that Americans are saying the economy under the Biden administration is a hell of a lot better than under Trump?” he said.
“It’s not just his vanity projects—tearing down the East Wing of the White House making room for his ballroom. Putting his name on the Kennedy Center. Building an arch in his own honor. Even hiring his own pool guy to fix the reflecting pool. Woah—what a loser.”
He also said it was “simply stunning” that president Trump had made “billions of dollars since returning to the White House.
“He has no shame,” Biden said.
After finishing his speech—during which he coughed loudly a number of times, and also squinted hard to read the teleprompter—Biden required assistance to exit the stage.
Just a few days earlier, the former president made a similarly awkward appearance at the grand opening of the Barack Obama Presidential Library in Chicago.
Biden was guided around the event by his wife, the former first lady, and shouted from the stage, “Where’s my granddaughter?” as proceedings drew to a close.
In a recent interview, Jill Biden said she thought her husband was “having a stroke” during his disastrous 2024 presidential debate, which led to a palace coup and his replacement with former vice president Kamala Harris.
Biden is still battling stage 4 prostate cancer.
