A military base in Idaho was locked down after two fighter jets crashed during an air show on Sunday, according to reports.
The Gunfighters Air Show at Mountain Home Air Force Base was abruptly canceled following a mid-air collision between two Navy F-18 Growlers.
Witness footage of the incident has been circulating on social media.
Four parachutes can be seen being deployed as both aircraft plunge to the ground below and authorities have indicated that all crew members were able to eject, although their current conditions remain unclear.
Major explosions triggered brush fires and the base was immediately placed into lockdown with the general public being urged to avoid the area.
“AN AIRCRAFT INCIDENT HAS OCCURRED AT MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE DURING THE GUNFIGHTER SKIES AIR SHOW TWO MILES NORTHWEST OF THE BASE,” the Mountain Home Air Force Base Gunfighters announced on social media.
An investigation is ongoing. We will monitor this story and provide updates if they become available.

So the four airmen in Idaho apparently survived. In 2022 two vintage military planes collided at a Show in Dallas killing six people. The average number of fatalities has dropped to roughly one person per year. Such Air Shows should be banned–they’re f**ing RETARDED !
f-18s?, just a few million tax payers $$$
How many were women??
It looks like two jets mating midflight.
Why would they put the base on lockdown?
Was their a threat? Such a stupid term – lockdown. I never heard this word when I was growing up in the 70’s and 80’s.
Those ejection seats are amazing and save so many lives.
Those magnificent DEI in their flying machines.
