Vice President JD Vance, who was appointed President Donald Trump’s fraud czar, revealed his anti-fraud task force has uncovered over $28 billion in fraud over the past two months.
The update came Tuesday during a roundtable discussion with state attorneys general on the VP’s anti-fraud initiatives, where he explained that the majority of fraud showed up in fraudulent small business loans in addition to stolen Covid funds.
“We’ve referred over $22 billion in fraudulent small business loans back to the Treasury for collection,” the VP declared.
“We’ve deferred more than $1.3 billion in fraudulent Medicaid reimbursements that were coming from various states, particularly California,” he said, adding they discovered the majority of new hospice centers aren’t actually providing hospice care.
“We’ve recovered taxpayer funds from the $135 billion stolen after the floodgates were open in the immediate aftermath of COVID,” he continued. “We found $6.3 billion in suspected fraudulent government contracts, which were mostly awarded during the last administration and that has stopped.”
“And finally, we’ve blocked $60 million in student aid fraud that should have gone to young people trying to get an education, but instead were going to fraudsters,” the VP outlined.
In remarks following the VP’s comments, Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said the amount of fraud uncovered could be enough to balance the federal budget, noting “the amount that has been fleeced from us in the hundreds of billions of dollars.”
“I believe based on what I’ve seen and what I’ve heard is that we could balance the federal budget if the only dollars that went out of the Treasury went to individuals who are properly, lawfully, correctly eligible to receive them,” he said, adding, “and that ultimately is what we’re going to have to do as a country.”
Vice President Vance was appointed fraud czar by President Trump in March via executive order following several high-profile fraud scandals some of which were exposed by citizen journalists, including several sham Somali daycare centers in Minneapolis Minn., and numerous sketchy hospice centers in Van Nuys, Calif.

The amounts of “fraud” JD turned up with such ease is already highly suspicious, likely the product of an equally indiscriminate “shadow DOGE”, and Miller is extrapolating that to the budget deficit, a figure some 68 times higher and climbing.

I thought that the government had thousands of people that are being paid to make sure there is no fraud in any dept . How come this is just coming to light now ? With the millions of places this money goes the opportunities for fraud are endless. This fraud taking place is not done by the ordinary working man . I think lawyers and politicians are involved right up to their eyeballs . Have we seen anyone go to jail over this, and if so what are the names ? We will hear nothing except that they are investigating until something new takes the place of fraud investigations.
Congress, the DOJ, and other entities will of course thwart Vance’s efforts. Trump will do nothing.
