(LifeSiteNews) — A Pennsylvania man was charged last week with felony aggravated assault of an unborn child among other charges after striking his pregnant girlfriend twice in the stomach when she refused to murder their child by abortion.

Antoine Jean Porcenat, 41, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, was charged with aggravated assault of an unborn child on May 18 after he allegedly struck his girlfriend, who is eight weeks’ pregnant, twice in the stomach with the palm of his hand with “substantial force,” leading to bleeding and “serious pain,” requiring her to be hospitalized, per local news outlets. The unidentified woman said that the alleged assault occurred after her boyfriend wanted her to abort their child, previously even asking her to drink an unknown liquid to kill the child, but she repeatedly insisted on keeping the baby.

In addition to the felony aggravated assault of an unborn child charge, Porcenat faces misdemeanor charges of assault and reckless endangerment, according to court documents. He was placed in the Franklin County Jail, where he appears to remain as of this writing, after he was unable to post the $25,000 bail following his May 19 arraignment.

It’s worth noting that in Pennsylvania, while aggravated assault of an unborn child as well as murder of an unborn child is illegal, abortion, which is also the murder of a preborn child, is legal through 23 weeks into a woman’s pregnancy for any reason and up to birth for “medical” exceptions.

Abortion, the violent destruction of an unborn child in his or her mother’s womb, is never medically necessary or justifiable.

Within the last year, the Keystone State has seen several notable cases of pregnant women and their unborn children being murdered. In one case, another Pennsylvania man, Shawn Cranston, was convicted in June 2025 of breaking into the home of and murdering a 23-year-old Amish woman named Rebekah Byler and her unborn child during a burglary attempt. He was later sentenced to two life sentences.

In another case, 23-year-old Dakota Greeley similarly received two life sentences after he shot his pregnant girlfriend, 25-year-old Trisha Renee Cole, in the head with a 30/30 rifle after repeatedly threatening to kill their unborn baby, whom he said “ruined his life.”

After shooting Cole, Greeley proceeded to run over her body with his pickup truck. In July 2025, he was given two life sentences for the first-degree murder of Cole and the preborn child.
