Comedian Bill Maher hosted Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt on his Club Random podcast this week, just days ahead of the city’s much anticipated election.

At one point, Maher complained about it taking three years to get his solar panels turned on and Pratt said he’s more concerned with keeping citizens safe and getting “all the naked drug addicts off of the sidewalks” before he can even think about topics such as solar panels.

The mayoral hopeful also said the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) should be investigated to figure out why people need solar panels in the first place when they pay increasing rates without receiving better electricity.

Before figuring out the solar issue, Pratt said he wants to “make sure people don’t have home invasions every single night, make sure you’re not losing your whole suspension because we haven’t fixed the road,” telling Maher, “People that are struggling to live in L.A. right now because it’s so expensive and they’re stepping in human poop, they don’t care about your problem with the solar panel right now.”

Regarding the overall safety of Angelenos, Pratt noted he wants everyone to feel safe no matter where they go and claimed some people unleashed “psycho Nazi lunacy” on him for supporting his Jewish friends feeling safe at their temples, schools and elsewhere.

“I don’t care if you’re Muslim, I don’t care how you identify, I don’t care if you’re trans, I don’t care. Whatever you do, you should have the right to do that and feel safe wherever you are. Whether it’s going to school, going to your popping trans bar, whatever it is, you should feel safe and not feel in danger,” he stated.

Showing how the Palisades fires affected his life in addition to burning down his home, Pratt detailed wearing his wife’s merch during mayoral campaign meetings because all his suits were also lost in the blaze.

When the pair touched on the city’s homeless crisis, Pratt called out the “homeless industrial-complex” for shipping in vagabonds from around the country and Maher argued most of them probably came to Southern California for the weather.

Agreeing that the climate is part of the attraction, Pratt said many rehab facilities also leave addicts on the streets of L.A. and that drug users come to the city for the freebies handed out by government and NGOs.

When Pratt blamed his election opponent incumbent Mayor Karen Bass for his house burning down, Maher argued she’s not solely responsible for the widespread devastation that came from the inferno.

The mayoral candidate “agreed” with Maher but said Bass was “in charge of all the things that got fucked up” leading to the disaster and that somebody must be held accountable.

The creator of the hit show Entourage posted a rant online this week blasting city leaders for allowing “homeless zombies” to take over L.A., noting he’s done charity work with homeless people in the past but the drug addicts who violently attack locals are not the same as other “unhoused” individuals.

He said the garbage all over the place makes Los Angeles look like a third-world country and that Pratt “has” to win the election “or the city is going to be gone.”

The critical L.A. mayoral election takes place on Tuesday and Bass is currently the favorite to win on betting markets, with polls showing Pratt beginning to take a slight lead in recent days.

  1. I live in SoCal and my solar panels work great. It is the only way to go. My payment on them is less than half my electrical bill and I always generate more energy than I use so my electrical account is credited so it is always negative and I haven’t paid a single electric bill since I got the panels. They don’t work everywhere but places like I live where it is always sunny and there is no winter they are amazing.
