Reality TV star turned Los Angeles mayoral candidate made a last-minute play for his opponent’s supporters on the eve of the primary, imploring them to vote for him rather than councilwoman Nithya Raman.
“I want to speak to those of you who are considering voting for Nithya Raman but haven’t yet. Obviously you and I are in the same place,” Pratt said in a recent video, adding, “We all agree that [incumbent Los Angeles Mayor] Karen Bass has failed the city as mayor and we need change.”
“And for a moment, you thought Nithya would be an alternative, but soon she collapsed at the debate,” the former MTV The Hills castmember pointed out, throwing to a video of her stumbling during last month’s highly-watched Los Angeles mayoral debate.
Pratt went on to highlight how Raman has been endorsed by Marxist live streamer Hasan Piker, pointing out it’s essentially a two-man race.
“About right now, you’ve accepted the reality that she’s not going to advance past the runoff. At this point, voting for Nithya is a wasted vote.”
“It’s me versus Karen,” he continued. “It’s change versus more of the same.”
“More homeless drug addicts in front of your schools. More animals being tortured and killed on the streets and in her city shelters. More empty reservoirs when the wildfires hit. More potholes. More of your favorite restaurants going out of business. No new housing getting built,” Pratt said in the over seven-minute long video.
“You can either vote for me to change all that insanity, or you can see Karen Bass visit more destruction on our city, and you can watch your social group erode as your friends move to Nashville, or Miami, or Austin.”
“A vote for Nithya at this point is a vote for the continued destruction of our city. Let’s make real change,” Pratt concluded.
Pratt’s message comes as Angelenos cast their votes in Tuesday’s primary, with the winner needing over 50 percent of vote totals to win the mayor’s seat outright – if no candidates receive 50 percent, the top two candidates head for a runoff election in November.

That’s how it starts.
People telling others how to vote.
Next, it will be morality.
They just won’t stop.
