Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will wear bodycams to “exonerate them” in the event of violence, border czar Tom Homan has announced.
The agency will now be required to record vehicle stops with at least one body camera.
“They exonerate more law enforcement than they convict, and I want officers to wear body cameras because I want the American people to see what the officers saw when they took that action,” Homan said on the “Fox & Friends Weekend” program.
The announcement came after two men were fatally shot by ICE agents during traffic stops earlier this month, in Maine and Texas.
There is no footage of the shootings, which are believed to have been in response to vehicle-ramming attacks.
In a second interview, Homan said money to pay for bodycameras was held up during the government shutdown.
“The cameras have been purchased right now,” Homan said. “They’re training the trainer in deploying the cameras nationwide.”
On 7 July, an ICE agent fatally shot a Mexican national in Houston, and six days later, another agent shot a Columbian national in Biddeford, Maine.
Last week, Homan said there would be a suspension of vehicle stops, but this was overruled by President Trump.
In February, after the killing of two US citizens during immigration raids in Minnesota, former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said bodycameras would be assigned to ICE agents nationwide “as funding is available.”

While local and federal sources initially stated the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents involved in the fatal shooting of Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero were not wearing body cameras, leaked reports from sources close to the investigation indicate that at least one of the agents was equipped with a body-worn recording device.

Oops another load of lies discovered, they had to retract the ramming lie because of witnesses and video proof emerging and now will the fbi allow this footage to be hidden from citizens of the USA as they have with multiple footages during the trump administration 2nd term? Where is is the footage homan and of course trumps fox news is not going to ask poor corrupt Tom or Kash Patel such a difficult question even though the WaPo story broke before the homan interview
ICE is nothing more than LEO dropouts of white trailer park trash full of tats, alcohol and vape odors, piercings, and flab who are given guns like it is the wild wild west.
This Gestapo agency needs to be eliminated as it is redundant and a waste of $$$ as there are no real deportations under it, just street thuggery. The military should not be overseas but at the border, just like how other countries do it. That would stop illegal passage in it’s tracks. Fire border patrol, ICE and whole slew of unconstitutional standing armies. The military has ZERO BUSINESS overseas! The only thing the military should be used for overseas is to bomb Israel into the stone age!
