A Cuban national with a disturbing criminal record and deportation history was apprehended after illegally entering the U.S. yet again.
U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) just released details about the bust, which unfolded in Del Rio Sector on June 1.
Agents assigned to Carrizo Springs Station were on patrol in a remote area of Maverick County when they encountered and detained seven individuals concealing themselves in the brush.
One of the detainees was identified as Lazaro Alberto Betancourt-Osorio, 44.
Agents discovered Betancourt-Osorio was convicted of using a computer to seduce, solicit, and lure a child, and traveling to meet a child after using a computer to lure in Florida in 2012.
Betancourt-Osorio was sentenced to 42 months in prison and was deported in 2016 at the conclusion of his term.
In 2025, he was caught back in the U.S. and removed again.
Betancourt-Osorio has been charged with reentry of a removed alien and faces up to 20 years in prison.
“This arrest by Carrizo Springs Station agents highlights the importance of constant vigilance along the immediate border,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Anthony Good.
“With prior convictions for sexual crimes against children this illegal alien posed a serious threat to our communities. He, and others like him, need to understand one thing: If you are in this country illegally, you will be caught.”
The Trump administration continues to maintain a historically secure southern border, although illegal crossings are on the rise in some sectors.

…If you are in this country illegally, you will be caught.
Just like all those seasonal workers in nyc, picking crops in the heart of downtown areas.
What a damn joke.
Just like the iran scam.
Just like trump conceding defeat by not destroying the enemy infrastructures.
He refuses to destroy the American enemy and put this war to end, all for the sake of keeping the war profits profitable.
Just one big money making scam with the contracts.
Re-elect no one that is currently in office, stop giving these clowns a job for life.
