Colorado election worker Tina Peters said the Deep State’s ham-fisted efforts ultimately backfired and thanked supporters who remained by her side throughout her imprisonment.
Peters joined Real America’s Voice this week, following a commutation of her 9-year prison sentence for election crimes last month that led to her serving nearly 20 months in jail.
“I’ve always said the mistake that the Deep State made in going after me was that they panicked,” Peters said.
“You know, back in 2021, and when all this came out that we had the evidence, they just went ballistic. [Democrat Colorado Attorney General] Jena Griswold went ape,” she continued.
Peters, who President Donald Trump repeatedly petitioned to have set free from jail, went on to describe how aggressively federal authorities went after her, saying “The FBI raided me, they took my husband, they tried to take my house.”
Peters has claimed the FBI coerced her husband, who was suffering from dementia and Parkinson’s, into signing divorce papers during her ordeal while he was at a nursing home.
“They just kept going. They took me out of office,” said the former Mesa County Clerk.
Peters, who was released on June 1, went on to thank supporters for helping her make it through a nearly two year-long stint, saying, “The people that stayed, steadfast against, you know, with me and against them just kept me going.”
Peters, who’s now on parole, was convicted in August 2024 of breaching secure election systems when she allowed unauthorized individuals access to Mesa County’s election equipment in 2021.
