Police in Las Vegas stopped a transgender person in possession of a large cache of weapons from carrying out a mass shooting spree at a local casino.
The incident occurred Saturday morning after police received a 911 call from the ex-“wife” of suspect Allison Howlett, a biological male now identifying as female, reporting he’d stolen “her” vehicle following a domestic dispute and was in possession of several firearms.
The ex-wife, a male to female transgender named “Julie,” reported Howlett had said he’d wanted to commit “suicide by cop” and carry out a mass shooting.
The ex helped police track the stolen vehicle to a parking garage at the Sunset Station Hotel And Casino, where Howlett refused to obey orders, but asked cops for water.
“The quick thinking officers developed a plan to take her into custody as an opportunity arose when she reached for the water,” Henderson Police Chief Reggie Rader later said at a press conference, referring to Howlett by his preferred pronouns.
“Officers used that moment to gain control of her hands and remove her from the vehicle.”
Multiple media outlets joined Chief Rader in referring to Howlett as a woman, as noted by @LibsofTikTok.
Inside Howlett’s car, police found 22 firearms, “including multiple handguns, rifles, a fully automatic firearm, suppressors, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition,” according to Las Vegas Metro PD.
Upon searching his home, they located 30 additional firearms, “including automatic weapons, AR-style rifles equipped with grenade launchers, suppressors, and thousands of rounds of ammunition.”
According to police, Howlett “faces numerous felony charges, including making a threat related to an act of terrorism, assault with a deadly weapon, grand larceny, resisting a public officer with a firearm, and multiple weapons-related offenses.”
Footage showed the trans would-be mass murderer during a court hearing via Zoom.
Citizen journalists on social media uncovered an X account apparently belonging to Howlett in which he celebrated killing police and the death of Charlie Kirk.
