Hundreds were arrested amid widespread chaos that led to a lockdown of Newport Beach, California, on Independence Day.
Police responded to hordes of ‘youths’ fighting and lighting off fireworks during a planned ‘takeover’ on Balboa Peninsula at around 7 p.m.
Members of the crowd shot fireworks at officers, some of whom were on horseback.
Authorities shut down businesses and bars after mobs reportedly looted a grocery store and other establishments.
Reports indicate most of the goons were from out of town.
“Yesterday, as our nation celebrated its semi-quincentennial with families and neighbors gathering peacefully, joyfully, and safely…a large group of agitators invaded Newport Beach, spurred on by an alleged ‘TikTok Takeover,'” stated Newport Beach Police Association President Joe DeJulio.
“These persons came to our city with the intent on causing harm, injury, and destruction, bringing harassment, disturbances, and mayhem.”
“Newport had a literal riot and the entire place is locked down with more cops than I knew existed, most insane I’ve ever seen down here,” a Reddit user posted on Saturday night. “No one can come or go right now, it’s all shut down. Cops are out in riot gear and they had to call other cities to help.”
“I had to drive through a checkpoint with heavily armed police to get home, I don’t know how it got so out of control but it’s gridlocked right now.”
Several officers were injured while attempting to restore law and order.
We have been documenting the growing trend of ‘teen takeovers’ — inorganic gatherings of juveniles and young adults that often devolve into violence, destruction, and lawlessness.

Is that what they think of tourists?
I would not cater to the young people, I would go after the family money.
Young people are so trashy today.
The Parable of the Wheat and the Tares (often referred to as the Wheat and the Weeds) found in Matthew 13:24-30, with the explanation in Matthew 13:37-43
According to Jesus’s explanation in the text, the imagery represents the end of the world:The Field: Represents the world. The Wheat: The true children of God (the righteous). The Tares (Weeds).
Imagine the mayhem if this country collapses. This is why we need to freight car the multitudes of immigrants out of this country now, anchor babies and all. Every foreigner from every country in the world, taking advantage of our freedom and hospitality. Look at the UK, ripe to be taken by the guests they welcomed through the gate.
