Labor Department Inspector General Anthony D’Esposito joined Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business Wednesday to discuss the Trump administration’s latest effort to target fraudsters and human traffickers abusing the H-1B and PERM visa programs.

“Fraudsters gaming the system — beware. We’re issuing subpoenas, tracking every lead, and putting criminals in cuffs,” wrote the official DOL OIG 𝕏 account.

Speaking with Bartiromo, D’Esposito said dozens of subpoenas have already been filed, whistleblowers have come forward with information about major companies, and that President Trump and Vice President Vance’s fraud task forces will be assisting in the investigation.

The inspector general also noted that “fraud is fueling violent crime,” saying, “Much of the visa and the human trafficking that we see when it comes to this foreign labor is tied to cartels, is tied to transnational gangs.”

D’Esposito wrote, “H-1B fraud is a public safety issue. It isn’t confined to factories—it reaches doctors’ offices, hospitals, and critical workplaces.”

He told Fox Business, “These are people working in medical facilities and doctors’ offices that are actually putting people in harm’s way to the potential of causing death.”

“Fraudsters are going to be hunted down, investigated, arrested and put behind bars,” the Labor Department official added.

Vice President Vance also mentioned the fraud crackdown on Wednesday, saying, “American jobs ought to go to American workers and not foreign fraudsters.”
