A 43-year-old American woman living in Ireland was killed this week, with her 13-year-old daughter finding her mom’s body hidden under a blanket.

The victim, Jamey Carney, was found to have severe wounds on her head with state pathologist Dr. Linda Mulligan later revealing suffocation as the official cause of death.

Carney’s case is being widely discussed across the globe because the key suspect in the murder is her Middle Eastern Muslim migrant boyfriend, who fled to Turkey within hours of her killing.

While asylum seekers in Ireland are forced to turn over their passports when applying for their stay, the boyfriend had his returned after being granted subsidiary protection status since he allegedly risked “serious harm” if he was sent back to his home country.

On July 4th, Carney posted a picture to Instagram posing alongside the boyfriend, 28-year-old Ahmad Alsaqer.

The New York Post reports, “Alsaqer, who moved to Ireland in 2024 seeking asylum, is suspected of beating Carney to death before boarding a bus from Killarney to Dublin early Tuesday morning and getting a last-minute flight to Istanbul, according to police sources in Ireland.”

The suspect is said to have previously lived in Turkey, France and the UK before seeking asylum in Ireland.

The couple met around a year-and-a-half ago at a pro-Palestine march, with Carney posting several photos and videos from demonstrations the duo attended.

Irish police believe Alsaqer could head for Jordan or Syria from Turkey.

Now, Extra.ie is reporting investigators worry the suspect will make it to his home country, which does not have an extradition treaty with Ireland, and that they would not be able to use DNA evidence to charge him even if he was eventually apprehended.

According to the Irish Times, investigators’ troubles stem from the fact that Alsaqer used to stay over at Carney’s home, which resulted in his DNA being left all over the house.

“It would be different if he was an intruder or had never been there before – he might be struggling to explain his DNA in that scenario,” a source told the outlet.

Carney’s cousin Ryan Fox begged people not to use the death to criticize the foreign migrants wreaking havoc across Europe, saying, “Do not use this to become bigoted or racist or prejudiced in any way. Bad people are in every group, and it is not the people who look like them who deserve to be blamed.”

Journalist Paul Joseph Watson posted an epic video breaking down the sad situation and how mainstream media is downplaying the fact that the prime suspect is a Muslim migrant.
