Mexican President Vows To Take Legal Action Against US ICE Agents After Illegal Alien In Texas Shot Dead For Ramming Car Into Agents

Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum said this week her country will be taking legal action against American officials after a Mexican national living in the U.S. was shot dead by ICE agents in Houston, Texas, Tuesday.

“Our objective is to go beyond diplomatic notes and the measures we have already raised before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, because we cannot allow the mistreatment of our fellow Mexicans in the United States,” Sheinbaum told reporters Wednesday. “Unfortunately, there has been another death of a Mexican national in the United States for being detained, when that person’s only offense was lacking immigration documents, even though they had been hired by an American company.”

The Mexican president conveniently omitted the fact that ICE agents opened fire after the suspect allegedly tried to hit an officer with his vehicle.

Dan Lyman of Alex Jones Live reported, “Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) attempted to conduct a vehicle stop when the driver, identified as Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, rammed into a federal vehicle. Araujo ignored repeated verbal commands and then tried to run over an ICE officer, prompting defensive fire, DHS says. ‘The driver was struck, and emergency services were immediately contacted,’ DHS explained in a statement. ‘The driver was transported to the hospital where he passed away from his injuries. The FBI is leading the investigation and is on the scene.’”

Sheinbaum didn’t say what measures her government might take and it’s unlikely that anything can be done as Mexico has no jurisdiction over events in America.

Mexican Foreign Minister Roberto Velasco later told journalists his nation’s government will be taking “forceful legal action” against the U.S. after more than a dozen of its citizens died in US custody.

Velasco claimed 14 Mexicans died while in ICE custody with three more being killed amid “arrest operations.”

The Mexican government is also reportedly considering launching civil suits against the companies that manage US detentions centers.
